Administration on Aging and the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement The Center focuses its activities on educational materials that meet the special needs of disadvantaged women and their families, including individuals with limited English proficiency. The Center improves women’s access to basic financial and retirement planning tools that promote financial literacy. Our materials include a full library of fact sheets on topics such as budgeting, saving and investing, understanding your pension plan, buying long-term care insurance, Social Security, retirement health and other important topics.

Department of Labor Covers employment, unemployment compensation, Workforce Investment Act, workplace safety and discrimination issues.

Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Enforces employment discrimination laws.

National Labor Relations Board Enforces National Labor Relations Act. Conducts secret-ballot elections to determine whether employees want union representation and investigates and remedies unfair labor practices by employers and unions.

National Employment Law Project NELP has advocated on behalf of the working poor, the unemployed, and other groups that face significant barriers to employment and government systems of support. Good issue papers on employment, unemployment compensation, welfare and low-wage workforce, etc.
